BARNEGAT, N.J., Mar. 18, 2015 – At a meeting with Jersey Shore United, Matthew Gaudet-Walters, sales representative of Walters-ReBUILD, presented the issues that Sandy-impacted residents are still dealing with in the effort to rebuild their shore homes.
Gaudet-Walters discussed ReBUILD’s efforts to help eligible residents apply for the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Elevation and Mitigation program (RREM) then utilize those funds to get the most house for their money.
“Many shore homeowners who’ve received federal money are unsure about where to turn to start the rebuilding process,” said Gaudet-Walters. “Others are still awaiting a RREM grant. As a local firm, we want to educate residents about the many options and services available to them. At ReBUILD we’ve created a seamless process to help families apply for the RREM program, demolish their Sandy-destroyed houses and rebuild new homes from the ground up.”
Jersey Shore United, a local non-profit organization, offers support to families affected by Superstorm Sandy by donating household supplies and construction assistance. The organization works with Sandy-impacted homeowners participating in the RREM and the Low-to-Moderate Income Homeowners Rebuilding Program (LMI Program). “Our organization is working with Walters-ReBuild on a special program for families with limited resources,” said Barry Moll, executive director of Jersey Shore United. “Qualified families through this program would have the ability to demolish their old home and build a new raised stick built home on their existing lot.”
Currently a family with $150,000 to $200,000 available to rebuild and required to knock down their home may qualify for this exciting program. First a family would complete the Jersey Shore United application process and once qualified have several options. A qualified family would be able to select from 7 models and 21 floor plans. The whole process includes demolition, permits, plans and building a raised, stick built home, right up to the CO in ten months. Walters is a certified RREM pathway B builder taking the stress off of the homeowner.
Jersey Shore United’s goal is to take the stress out of the process and make it as painfree as possible. Working with Walters Homes is making that possible.
