NO, Jersey Shore United is a faith based organization and operates as a Christian organization sharing the hope of “Jesus” and will assist needy families of all walks of life and beliefs.

Currently you have to live on the Jersey Shore to qualify for assistance. JSU is currently assisting families in Monmouth, Ocean, and Atlantic Counties.

Jersey Shore United is a disaster relief organization formed out of the faith based community to assist needy families impacted by hurricane Sandy back in October of 2012.

There is a list of prerequisites families must meet to get assistance. Basically at the time of hurricane Sandy you must have lived in your home and it must have been your primary residence. Your home must have been less than 1800 sq feet and your income must be at or less than the income listed on the state low to middle income chart(LMI) for your size family plus 20%.

Jersey Shore United currently has 5 programs offering different types of assistance. JSU offers Appliances, mattresses, and furniture to needy families in our “Hope” in the Homestretch program. JSU offers needed basic house wares to families moving back home “Night One” with our Operation “Hope” Chest. Free building supplies are available through the “Good 360” program. “Construction Assistance” is available to the most needy families and finally we offer home repair to our Veteran’s that are currently serving in our military on active duty through our “Hope” for Hero’s program.
